What to do

  1. Cut out the cards. Put the meaning cards in the bag and keep the saying cards to one side.
  2. Sit in a circle. Read all six meanings aloud together first.
  3. Play music and pass the bag gently around the circle. Hand it on, do not throw it.
  4. When the music stops, the player holding the bag pulls out a card and reads it, with help if they want it.
  5. They give a real-life example of that meaning. They can ask a friend to help. Then the card goes back in the bag.
  6. At the end, lay out the saying cards and match each to its meaning together, checking with the list on this page.
