What to do

  1. Read the meaning: it is an ill wind that blows nobody good. Ask: can bad weather ever be good news for someone?
  2. As a group, list who might be glad of a windy day. A kite flyer, someone with washing on the line, a windmill, a sailor.
  3. Colour the sun, the cloud, the kite and the washing.
  4. Draw at least three people, animals or plants who are glad of the weather. Give each one a happy face.
  5. Share your pictures. Did anyone think of someone nobody else did?

Questions to talk about

  • Has something annoying ever turned out well for you or someone else?
  • Is it always easy to see the good side straight away?

You will need

  • The printed colouring page
  • Coloured pencils or crayons

Make it fit

Simpler: Draw just one creature who loves the wind.

More of a stretch: Draw one person who is not glad of the weather too, and talk about how both can be true at once.
