About this saying

The greeting for the day itself, Pádraig’s feast-day, made happy, addressed to one person; daoibh replaces duit for a group. The religious alternative heard alongside it wishes the blessings of the festival instead. Neither appears in the big dictionaries, which have little occasion to print holiday greetings. The citation here is to a published teaching use, and the page says so.
